# Set up Bolt on Volusion

> Install the Bolt plugin on a Volusion v1 storefront over sFTP.

Add Bolt Checkout to a Volusion v1 storefront by deploying the Bolt plugin to your store's `vspfiles` folder over sFTP.

<Note>
  Only Volusion v1 is supported. Your account must have the Generic API enabled and be a full (non-trial) account on a plan that supports sFTP.

This guide is for Volusion. Other platforms and custom web apps have their own quickstarts.

## Prerequisites [#prerequisites]

* Bolt merchant account with API keys
* Volusion v1 with the Generic API enabled (full, non-trial account)
* The Bolt plugin from your Customer Success Manager
* An sFTP client using your Volusion Admin credentials on port 2222

## Upload the plugin [#upload-the-plugin]

1. Get the plugin from your CSM and edit `vspfiles/bolt/config.asp` with your Bolt API keys and Volusion API credentials.
2. Connect over sFTP (port 2222) and upload the `vspfiles` folder into your store root, overwriting existing content.

**Expected result:** the Bolt files are present under `vspfiles/bolt/`.

## Update meta tags [#update-meta-tags]

1. In **Volusion Admin > Marketing > SEO**, add the Bolt connect/track script and CSS snippet to **Globally Appended Meta Tags**, then insert your Bolt publishable key.
2. For sandbox, switch the connect and track script URLs to their sandbox variants.
3. Save, then open `[store_url]/v/vspfiles/bolt/install.asp` to confirm the success message.

**Expected result:** `install.asp` reports a successful install.

## Configure webhooks [#configure-webhooks]

In your Merchant Dashboard, go to **Administration > API > Merchant Callbacks** and set:

* **Webhook URL:** `[store_url]/v/vspfiles/bolt/order-update.asp`
* **Shipping and Tax URL:** `[store_url]/v/vspfiles/bolt/shipping-and-tax.asp`

## Production checklist [#production-checklist]

* Switch the connect and track script URLs back to production
* Use production API keys and dashboard
* Confirm `install.asp` success on the production store

## Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

* Install not confirmed: reopen `[store_url]/v/vspfiles/bolt/install.asp` and check for the success message.
* sFTP connection fails: use port 2222 with your Volusion Admin credentials.
* Not supported on Volusion v2: confirm you are on v1 with the Generic API enabled.
