Source: https://help.boltapp.com/platforms/adobe

Install the Bolt Checkout plugin (`boltpay/bolt-magento2`) on Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) to render the Bolt button and Checkout modal on your storefront.

<Note>
  Requires Magento 2.3 or above and command-line access to your Magento root folder.
</Note>

**Platform support**

This guide is for Adobe Commerce. Other platforms and custom web apps have their own quickstarts.

</IntegrationTable>

## Prerequisites [#prerequisites]

* Bolt merchant account with API credentials (Administration > API > API Keys)
* Adobe Commerce / Magento 2.3+ with access to the Magento root folder
* Command-line (SSH) access to run Composer and `bin/magento`

## Install the plugin [#install-the-plugin]

1. From your Magento root, require the plugin with Composer:

```bash title="Terminal"
composer require boltpay/bolt-magento2
```

2. Run the Magento setup sequence:

```bash title="Magento server"
bin/magento setup:upgrade
bin/magento setup:di:compile
bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy
bin/magento cache:clean
bin/magento cache:flush
```

**Expected result:** **Bolt Pay** appears under **Stores > Configuration > Sales > Payment Methods**.

## Configure the plugin [#configure-the-plugin]

1. Open **Stores > Configuration > Sales > Payment Methods > Bolt Pay** and set **Enabled** to **Yes**, then add a title.
2. Enter your Bolt **API Key** and **Signing Secret** from the Merchant Dashboard.
3. Under **Advanced Options**, choose **Create and send API keys to Bolt** to establish the OAuth connection so Bolt can call the Magento API.

**Expected result:** the Bolt button renders on your storefront and sandbox checkout opens.

## Verify [#verify]

Place a test order in sandbox with a [test card](/getting-started/test-cards) and confirm the transaction appears under **Transactions** in your sandbox dashboard.

## Fraud-only setup [#fraud-only-setup]

If you use Bolt's Fraud-Only offering, enter the **Publishable Key - Payment Only** together with your API key and signing secret, enable only **Native Checkout Page** under **Where to add Bolt?**, and make sure no global CSS hides the original checkout button.

## Production checklist [#production-checklist]

* Disable **Sandbox Mode**
* Switch to production API keys and dashboard
* Live processor credentials configured in the Bolt dashboard

## Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

* Bolt button missing: check **Replace Button Selectors** (use `|append` or `|prepend` to place the button adjacent instead of replacing the element).
* API calls failing: confirm the M2 API keys were sent to Bolt to complete the OAuth connection.
