# Set up CardConnect

> Connect CardConnect to your Bolt merchant account.

Connect CardConnect to Bolt so Bolt can authorize and capture payments through your CardConnect account.

## Step 1: Obtain CardConnect keys [#step-1-obtain-cardconnect-keys]

Collect these values from your CardConnect account representative:

* Username
* Password
* Merchant ID
* URL

## Step 2: Add keys and edit payment settings [#step-2-add-keys-and-edit-payment-settings]

1. Log into the [sandbox](https://merchant-sandbox.boltapp.com/) or [production](https://merchant.boltapp.com/) Merchant Dashboard.
2. Go to **Settings** > **Payments**.
3. Click **Set Up CardConnect**.
4. Enter URL, Username, Password, and Merchant ID.
5. Click **Next**.
6. Edit payment settings, then click **Complete Setup**.

**Expected result:** CardConnect appears as your active processor under **Settings** > **Payments**.

## Step 3: Configure risk settings [#step-3-configure-risk-settings]

For saved cards, Bolt does not transmit CVV match data.

### With Fraud Protection [#with-fraud-protection]

Use CardConnect's [security settings](https://support.cardpointe.com/cardpointe/cardpointe-desktop-app#security-settings) to allow shipping and billing address mismatches.

### Without Fraud Protection [#without-fraud-protection]

Tell your fraud provider that payments through this processor will not include CVV match information.

## Step 4: Set up chargeback notifications [#step-4-set-up-chargeback-notifications]

Configure CardConnect communication preferences for digital chargeback notifications.

## Chargeback handling [#chargeback-handling]

* **With Fraud Protection:** CardConnect supports manual dispute submissions.
* **Without Fraud Protection:** Follow CardConnect's chargebacks process.

## Testing [#testing]

Use [CardConnect's test credentials](https://support.cardpointe.com/gateway-test-credentials) in sandbox or staging.
