> Connect Adyen to your Bolt merchant account.

Connect Adyen to Bolt so Bolt can authorize and capture payments through your Adyen account.

## Before you begin [#before-you-begin]

### Accept raw PAN information [#accept-raw-pan-information]

Your Adyen account must accept [raw PAN information](https://docs.adyen.com/get-started-with-adyen/payment-glossary#card-number-pan). The Webservice User used for Bolt needs the `API PCI Payments Role`. [Contact your Adyen representative](https://www.adyen.help/hc/en-us/requests/new) to enable it. [Learn more about API PCI Payments](https://www.adyen.help/hc/en-us/articles/5231707550364).

### Capture type [#capture-type]

If you use Bolt Fraud Protection with autocapture, set Adyen captures to **Manual capture**. Bolt authorizes the order, runs fraud review, then captures in Adyen.

## Step 1: Set up webhooks [#step-1-set-up-webhooks]

Webhooks keep Bolt and Adyen in sync for transaction and dispute events.

1. Log into the [Adyen Customer Area](https://ca-live.adyen.com/).
2. Follow Adyen's [Notification Webhooks](https://docs.adyen.com/development-resources/webhooks#set-up-notifications-in-your-customer-area) guide.
3. For **URL**, use the Bolt webhook URL from the [Bolt Merchant Dashboard](https://merchant.boltapp.com/): **Settings** > **Payments** > **Manage Adyen**.
4. Save and test using Adyen's webhook documentation.

## Step 2: Obtain Adyen keys [#step-2-obtain-adyen-keys]

| Credential | Description | Where to find it |

## Step 4: Configure Adyen risk settings [#step-4-configure-adyen-risk-settings]

For saved cards, Bolt does not transmit CVV or address data to processors.

### Disable CVV auto-declines [#disable-cvv-auto-declines]

1. Go to the [Adyen Customer Area](https://ca-live.adyen.com/).
2. Go to **Risk** > **Risk Profiles** and select a profile.
3. Use Adyen's [consistency rules](https://docs.adyen.com/risk-management/configure-manual-risk/standard-risk-rules#consistency-rules) to allow CVV mismatches.

### Enable AVS response mapping [#enable-avs-response-mapping]

1. Go to **Developers** > **API URLs** > **Additional data settings**.
2. Under Acquirer, enable **Raw acquirer result** and **Acquirer result**.

### With Fraud Protection [#with-fraud-protection]

Use Adyen's [AVS settings](https://docs.adyen.com/risk-management/avs-checks) to allow shipping and billing address mismatches.

### Without Fraud Protection [#without-fraud-protection]

Tell your fraud provider that payments through this processor will not include CVV match information.

## Step 5: Set up chargeback notifications [#step-5-set-up-chargeback-notifications]

Configure Adyen communication preferences for digital chargeback notifications.

## Optional: Real Time Account Updater [#optional-real-time-account-updater]

1. Ask your Adyen representative to enable Real Time Account Updater.
2. Confirm Adyen uses the correct RSA public key for card JWE.
3. Follow Adyen's [RTAU setup guide](https://docs.adyen.com/online-payments/account-updater/real-time-account-updater#receive-card-updates-in-payment-response).
4. Ask your Bolt CSM to confirm setup.

## Chargeback handling [#chargeback-handling]

* **With Fraud Protection:** Set up a user in Adyen so Bolt's chargebacks team can access dispute information.
* **Without Fraud Protection:** Follow [Adyen's chargebacks process](https://docs.adyen.com/risk-management/understanding-disputes).
